List of Ted Bundy's VictimsTed Bundy's reign of terror lasted from 1974 to 1978 and spanned six states, leaving behind 30 known murder victims, as confessed by Bundy. His modus operandi evolved over the years. Bundy's first murders were forced entry followed by attack with a blunt instrument, usually on a sleeping victim.
Ted Bundy is one of the most notorious killers in history. The American serial killer confessed to 36 murders, but it’s thought that the actual number of women he killed was closer to 100. When he was finally apprehended, Ted Bundy traded bits of confession in exchange for the delay of his execution.

These early victims were left as they lay, either unconscious or dead. It seems odd to say, but these were his lucky victims.
As his murders gained momentum, he became more organized and c Credit: State of Florida Archivesunning.His most popular ruse was to fake an injury, either a sprained ankle with the use of crutches or a broken arm with a fake cast. Bundy, an attractive charmer, would then approach the victim of his choice with a request for help.
He was very adept at gaining these young women's confidence. He would then take his victim to a second location where they were assaulted and killed. Some of the bodies were never recovered, others only partially so.All of his victims were young and pretty, most of them college students. One striking similarity among most of the victims was their long hair, usually parted in the middle. Some believe them all to be similar in appearance to Bundy's college sweetheart who left him.
After her rejection of him, he rebuilt himself into a more respectable person (at least on the outside) and won her back. They became engaged, then Bundy stopped the relationship. According to Bundy, he had just wanted to prove that he could have married her if he had really wanted to.

Five women witnesses helped the police to come up with a composite sketch which was distributed to the media. No less than four people submitted Ted Bundy's name as a possible suspect. However, the police were receiving 100's of tips a day, and the clean-cut law student didn't seem likely to be their killer.It was at this point that Ted Bundy moved to Utah to attend the University of Utah Law School.
Unfortunately the study of law did not occupy Bundy's mind to the point where he gave up murder. Neither did the fact that Bundy had an active social life and dated many women from the area. Abducted at Brigham Young University. Body never found.Here it should be noted that in August of 1975, Ted Bundy was arrested for failing to pull over on a routine traffic stop. That arrest (and items found in Bundy's car) eventually lead to Bundy being tried and convicted of aggravated kidnapping and attempted criminal assault on Carol DaRonch.
This took him behind bars until his final escape (his second) which led to his flight to Florida. He escaped on December 30, 1977 and didn't waste too much time in trying to go straight. It may have been the pressure of his long prison stay or the thought of recapture, but Bundy reverted to his previous MO of forced entry and attacks on sleeping victims.1978 (Florida)January 15th: Margaret Bowman, age 21. Skeletal remains found.Ted Bundy remains a suspect in a large number of unsolved murders and disappearances. As his execution date grew closer, he started alluding to more and more murders. Officials saw this as a delaying tactic to push back his execution date even further. However many other murders Bundy may have committed, he took that information with him to the grave.
Bundy died by electrocution on January 24, 1989.
